From irregular feed to controlled output

The exact rotor and screen configuration is selected for your material, but the core reduction path follows four clear stages.

  1. 01

    Feed

Branches or logs enter the branch inlet; straw and lighter residues can use the wider auxiliary inlet.

  2. 02

    Cut

Rotor-mounted knives shear long material into shorter pieces and control the initial reduction.

  3. 03

    Impact

Hammer blades continue breaking the material until it can pass the selected sizing area.

  4. 04

    Discharge

Rotor airflow carries qualified chips or coarse sawdust out for collection or downstream processing.

Why Cronus wood chippers

Engineering choices focus on flexible deployment, predictable maintenance and a configuration matched to the feed.

01

Dual-feed flexibility

Separate feed paths support both woody branches and lighter fibrous residues.

02

Knife + hammer reduction

Two reduction actions handle irregular feed more effectively than a single cutting stage.

03

Electric or diesel drive

Select workshop efficiency or independent field power without changing the core process.

04

Mobile configurations

Optional wheeled chassis brings processing closer to branch and biomass collection points.

05

Output matched to use

Screen and machine configuration can be selected for fuel, bedding, compost or pellet pre-processing.

06

Factory-backed support

Application review, spare parts guidance and after-sales support come from an experienced equipment group.

What materials can a Cronus wood chipper process?

Pine, mixed hardwood, poplar, fir, raw bamboo, branches, straw and crop stalks are typical feeds. Suitability depends on moisture, diameter and target output.

What is the maximum branch diameter?

The Model 420 is specified for approximately 12-14 cm feed size and the Model 500 for approximately 15-17 cm. Shape and hardness affect practical feeding.

Should I choose electric or diesel power?

Choose electric power for fixed production with reliable grid supply. Choose diesel for remote sites, forestry work or frequent relocation.

Can Cronus supply a mobile wood chipper?

Yes. A wheeled chassis can be configured for farm, forestry and job-site movement. Tell us the towing and road-use requirements in your market.

How does the wood chipper reduce material?

Knives first shear long feed into shorter pieces. Hammer blades continue the reduction, and rotor airflow moves qualified material through the discharge.

What production capacity can I expect?

Capacity varies by model and feed. The supplied Model 700 diesel configuration is rated at approximately 3-4 t/h under suitable working conditions.

Can the final chip size be adjusted?

Yes. Output can be tuned through screen selection and operating setup. We confirm the configuration after reviewing your target size and downstream use.

Can the machine process wet wood?

Moderately moist wood can be processed, but high moisture reduces throughput and may affect discharge. Include the expected moisture range in your inquiry.

How often should knives and hammers be maintained?

Inspect wear parts regularly. Service life depends on hardness, operating hours and contamination. Correct sharpening and clean feed extend wear life.

Can voltage and frequency be customized?

Yes. Motor voltage, frequency and electrical protection can be configured for the destination market, subject to engineering confirmation.

Can it feed a biomass pellet production line?

Yes. It can work as a pre-processing stage before drying, fine grinding and pelletizing. Cronus can review the complete material flow.

What information is required for a quotation?

Send the material type, maximum diameter, moisture, required capacity, target size, preferred power source, voltage and installation country.

What after-sales support is available?

Cronus provides application guidance, operation documentation, spare-parts support and remote technical assistance. Project-specific service scope is confirmed in the quotation.
